In 2017-2019 the current Owner invested heavily in machinery and equipment upgrades when Caravelle was purchased from the Italian Owner and shipped to Royal De Vries Shipyard ( Feadship) in Makkum for a technical and structural refit. The following main work has been carried out:

- Some platework on the hull was replaced,

- a new paint system applied from the bare steel up,  

- 4x rotor swing stabilizers installed,

- one generator replaced and

- a shore converter installed

- A large battery pack with smart inverters installed.

- The wheelhouse panel cabling was renewed

- All navigation equipment was further renewed in 2020.

- The main switchboard in the engine room and all distribution panels have been renewed

- main cabling for the electrical system has been renewed.

- a new AC system was installed including chiller units and fancoil units.

-  A USCG approved sewage plant was installed, including new tanks

- a new Idromar watermaker installed

- new Alfa Laval fuel separator installed

- new fuel, seawater, freshwater and grey water piping, valves, pumps and manifolds were installed

- bilge system was extended, new pumps installed, piping replaced.

- the main engines overhauled

- a thrust bearing was installed, the shafts have been re-aligned and reworked.

- propellers have been balanced

- the entire engine room was stripped and rebuilt to Feadship standard.

- RINA class certification was re-validated and the necessary modifications were made to comply with the safety rules.

- A new high sensitive fire detection system and alarm panel was installed

.-The exterior woodwork was restored (apart from the veneer on the deckhouse)

- and all exterior furniture, capping rails and wooden mast have been sanded back to bare wood and a new varnish system was applied

- anchor chains have been renewed and windlass overhauled.

. In 2020 further improvements have been made to the galley when large custom made fridges and freezers have been installed.

- Induction had replaced the gas hub during the refit at Feadship in 2019 already.

- Normal maintenance and general upgrades have been ongoing between her re-delivery and today.

After the refit in Makkumr Caravelle spent almost 3 years in Florida and has been cruising the Bahama’s, Antigua, the US east coast, New York and New England/Maine. She is now back in The Netherlands and ready for a new caring Owner who appreciates the elegance and pedigree of this beautiful Lady.

It is a unique chance to purchase a yacht which is a classic appearance but has new technology installed for safe navigation and comfort.
